Junk comes in all flavors, shapes and sizes. Nothing makes for a more colorful, eclectic, and socially relevant photographic subject. The desert seems particularly prone to these accumulations, but there are entire industries and cultures built around the re-use of manufactured materials. The automotive industries supply more than their share, of course, but a case can be made that the US Government is the biggest junkster of all. You can strip a car of parts for all kinds of uses, but there aren’t a lot of uses for an obsolete supersonic aircraft engine.
